Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsWhat is your favorite breakfast? Here are mine, which I vary day to day:
1) whole grain Cheerios mixed with whole grain nuggets cereal, one whole sliced banana on top with milk
2) whole grain toasted English muffin sandwich with sausage patty and fried egg
3) whole grain toaster waffles with sliced strawberries and maple syrup, honey or apple butter
I have one of those breakfasts with a small glass of OJ and coffee.
Is it any wonder that breakfast is my favorite meal?

Easy peasy and sooooo good.
The halves are easier than slices to manage.

(57,616 posts)Almost exactly the same. Ditch the black coffee.
Nothing better than a big bowl of grits.

(6,806 posts)I will order Buckwheat pancakes (if they have them); eggs, sunny side up; bacon. Sometimes it will be a Denver Omelette with cottage potatoes. At home it varies: cottage cheese, yogurt, scrambled eggs with sausage crumbles and side of muffin, sourdough toast, bagel, English muffin. No, not all at once. This morning its yogurt with blueberries, blueberry muffin, cranberry juice, and coffee with cream. Getting ready to watch Joy Ann Reid.

Alternately, plain greek yogurt with flaxseed, peanut butter, peanut butter sugar free syrup.
Is it any wonder I make two gallons of homemade yogurt each week?
Once a week or so, maybe a veggie cheese omelette...

(14,811 posts)McCormick has a decent Hollandaise sauce in packets available at most grocery stores that's easy to make. Other than that you just need English muffins & Canadian bacon, also available anywhere. I did buy an egg poaching skillet a couple years ago but you can get by poaching eggs without one (they just never come out as pretty).

(14,539 posts)2 egg yolks
2tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
1Tbls water
pinch of sea salt
pinch of pepper
4oz melted unsalted butter.
Combine the yolks, lemon juice, salt and pepper in a small sauce pan
cook, whisking constantly, over med-low flame until eggs start to thicken. Careful not to scramble.
I have an electric stove, so this is a tricky step. I use just under med heat and take it off the burner every 30 seconds or so, for about 10 seconds to gauge how thick it is. You may have to use a few trial runs to get the heat temp right for your stove.
When it starts to thicken, remove pan from heat.
Pour butter in, in a slow, thin, steady stream, while vigorously whisking. To judge the slow, thin, stream, once it stops dripping and streams that's what you want.
taste and adjust to your taste.
I bolded the key words.
I make this 1st and set aside while I make the rest. If it gets too thick whisk in some hot tap water until desired consistency.
I Love eggs benny. My variations: use thick sliced bacon, poached eggs and asparagus or corned beef hash, and poached eggs.
SCantiGOP
(13,873 posts)I don't like it that much and it is loaded with saturated fat and sodium. I poach two eggs, toast a whole grain english muffin, and microwave two pieces of canadian bacon. Very good and very filling, with a minimum of the fat and salt that I need to avoid (somebody tell CTyankee to give up that sausage patty).
spooky3
(34,481 posts)Canadian bacon than in the sauce.
SCantiGOP
(13,873 posts)has about 1/3 gram of sodium for two slices (which is slightly more than a serving of hollandaise) while the RDA is about 6 grams per day. I can leave off the sauce, but can't make a decent Eggs Benedict without the bacon.

(14,036 posts)Sauteed zucchini, peppers, and snow peas. Various tomatoes. From the freezer... hash browns in olive oil.
A little herbed up vegan mayo on the side, and woo-hoo.
The variation possibilities... green beans, eggplant... different herbs and spices... never gets dull.
Always served with pots of whatever green, red, or pu'er tea is desired.
And a big platter of love for my wife and for life.

(63,912 posts)You've given me some great ideas to vary my breakfast.
Of course, on Sunday mornings my husband brings a toasted pumpernickel bagel with veggie cream cheese for me. It is with so much love it satisfies completely!

(9,581 posts)I have an egg over easy, a sausage patty or link, and some sort of breakfast potatoes. I add some melon or other fruit if I have it.
Sometimes I get lazy and make a quiche for the week (cheese, mushroom, whatever I have on hand), a slice served with either patty sausage or link.
I've pretty much given up coffee. Iced tea is my drink of choice. I really like grapefruit juice, though.

3 WW points. (I have a very slick egg pan so no added fat unless I just want it for flavor)
2. 1 slice of Dangerous Dave's toasted
1 Tbsp peanut butter
sliced banana
coffee, etc.
this one is 6 WW points
3. steel cut oatmeal with a touch of brown sugar and some sort of oil (not much)
This is when I eat at home.
If I eat breakfast when traveling then I go for broke; I totally love breakfast especially eating out. There is this hotel near my sister's house with a bodacious breakfast buffet which is included with the room. That buffet makes up for the slightly higher cost of the room
