Love them for breakfast. In the grocery store they are enticing on the shelves but then to purchase them I commit myself to have them for the next morning and hope they will still be so flaky...
Trader Joe's used to have them frozen. But I had to leave them overnight to rise, which did not always work, not in the Midwest nights. Though placing them for half an hour in front of the fireplace helped.
Recently Trader Joe's brought them back in a different packaging. No need to defrost head of time though if one wants, can defrost them for 30 min which I do. No, not as large as the store bought but still wonderful.
Just had them. Yum!

(63,221 posts)Although they have to be fresh from a good bakery or I won't eat them at all. When I lived in NYC, I would occasionally go to Balthazar for their fresh breakfast pastries.
I am not normally a b-fast eater, but sometimes they were just too enticing to pass up. Now, I don't have a place on my route to work and the pastries at work are terrible, so I miss having them every now and then.
