The bridge was constructed in 1899 by the Pennsylvania and Maryland Bridge Construction Company, and opened in 1900.[2] The components were made by the Pennsylvania Steel Company and were shipped from the United States. The rail line was constructed to help expand the influence of the British Empire in the region. The construction project was overseen by Sir Arthur Rendel, engineer for the Burma Railway Company.[3]

(17,425 posts)Anytime I see something like this, my balls tingle. Apparently, this happens with some women and their woman parts also.
I was wondering what caused this, so I looked it up and apparently it is some kind of primal protective mechanism which encourages a person to protect their genitals first in cases of extreme danger.
Don't say I never taught you anything.

(35,658 posts)would require me to trust the competency of other people. It can be said that most things in life require us to trust the competency of other people. However, in this case, the stakes are way higher than in most situations. So no. Not ever. Never.

(11,686 posts)S Bahn ( train above the streets ) that was on a bridge just like that. You could hear and feel the thing making creaking, cracking and squealing noises and swaying side to side. The buildings it went by were so close if the windows on the S Bahn opened you could easily touch them. I must say it was most definantly not as high as this one but it was about 4 stories up. At 8 years old I was terrified. After that we only took the U Bahn ( subway. )
