Pet Calming Diffusers, I learned this today
I have 2 plugged in, I was replacing the liquid and discovered to my great suprise there was a build up of cat fur and dust on the electricial plug in part. Not alot, but enough to be obvious, and yesterday I had noticed a faint 'electricial heating smell'.
I used a q tip and a *drop* of water to carefully clean the unit. I have no idea if the unit could overheat enoughto be a hazard, but I thought I'd pass info along.
I was amazed at how much fur there was in just 6 weeks of usage.

(102,247 posts)Yes, the static electricity is a magnet for hair and I find all kinds of devices getting clogged on hair if I don't check regularly--even the heat-dispersing fan laptop pad I use. I almost burned it out, even though it is very low voltage (USB only).

(36,262 posts)They need a wipe occasionally (after cooling off, of course). Ours are located high enough that cats can't reach them to rub on them -- the vapor is heavier than air, despite being warm, so you should place them well above cats' reach.
