My two cents: It was fine. Bill Hader was the best and added much-needed levity to the story. It was also fun to see Stephen King in at least two cameos. The scariest part of the movie, IMO, was the scene that was previewed everywhere between Bev and the old lady in the apartment. I'm not a fan of CGl, so I didn't find the special effects all that frightening. The ending was excessively sentimental and too long. Still, though, I enjoyed myself.

(16,377 posts)You're right about the ending of the first one, the monster was so lame. The monster is better in this one.
On edit: The characters are more developed in the re-dos and that makes a lot of difference.

It's very rarely on tv. Not on iTunes or anywhere else I can find.

(16,377 posts)It was a mini-series wasn't it? I avoided it because I didn't want it to ruin the novel for me. I read the book in 1980 while I was living in Illinois and preparing to move to Colorado.

Suffice to say, he got crushed in his spider form.
