(20,679 posts)If they guessed wrong, nothing else will be available this year, anyway. It's worth the risk, and hopefully, what I got is close enough to what I'll get exposed to.

(25,183 posts)I have a lot less exposure to people since I retired (I worked the front window at my last job) but I still go out and have a beer or two with other people.
Gonna have to do it before we go out to visit Mom in late October, she has virtually zero exposure to other people, and I'd hate to bring the flu to her at the age of 86.
Edit: I mentioned this to my lady, and she's got us scheduled for flu shots on Saturday. She doesn't tell me stuff like this because I just don't remember, according to her. In any case, she's got us on track as always. I'm damned lucky to have her!

(33,515 posts)...shit, but I usually do after the annual flu shot.
I'm generally a little ill for a day, but then again, I don't get the flu.
Definitely worth it.
I've heard Shingles is particularly nasty, and I'm glad there's a vaccine.

(22,569 posts)but I don't remember having had the flu. Also, being schizoid I avoid being around people as much as possible.
My doctor offered the flu shot at my last physical and when I said 'no' he told me he had no problem with that, he just had to offer it.

Your doctor should have encouraged you with a little more conviction.
But I get it; even I get tired of going eighteen rounds with the 'never had a flu shot, never will' crowd.

(63,221 posts)It's so convenient and it takes about two minutes. Probably not for another 2 or 3 weeks though. I'm away next week and then play catch up the week after that.
