A feel good story that makes me smile.....❣️

Yesterday, at the Senior center, a woman came to her bingo game with a Goodrich 1965 yearbook. I collect yearbooks, so this caught my attention. She told me that the yearbook had belonged to her son, Rod, who had died in Viet Nam. She then told me that her other two son's, Wayne and Brian, have also passed. Then she said that she had no idea what had happened to any of Wayne's yearbooks. I knew right away what had happened to one of Wayne's yearbooks! I had it. About 15 years ago, I met a girl who was dating Wayne in high school, she had his book to sign it, they broke up and she had the book all these years. She gave it to me, for my collection. This morning, I went to visit 95 year old Doris and gave her, her son's long lost yearbook, with 25 notes and signatures from his friends.

(Thanks go to Andy who posted this on Facebook in a group I belong to called "When I was young growing up in Fond du Lac, WI)

The lovely Doris.....

Brian (on the left), Wayne (on the right) at my wedding coin shower....Sept. 1973...Stevens Point, WI....Andy also printed and gave her this pic telling her who it was from and that I had never known Rod but cherished knowing Brian and Wayne....both great guys! She accepted with tears in her eyes.....

So sorry that Doris lost 3 sons. Her heart must have broken many times over. I lost one son, and still miss him after all these years. Thank you for taking the time to brighten her world for a while. Amazing how circumstances bring people together, isn't it?
