...about your house/home?
Besides my cats, I miss my shower. We had our bathroom redone about 8 years ago, and we have a huge walk-in shower with a nice powerful shower head. Right now, I am at a small cottage my mom and I own in the Finger Lakes area of upstate NY. I love it here, but the little stall shower with the wussy Water-Pik shower head makes me want to scream. It isn't much bigger than an MRI tube.

(14,637 posts)I miss my bathtub. It has holes all around the perimeter that bubble (not jets, but air) and make a bubblebath super bubbly. We soften our water, which I also miss. I hear ya about the wussy shower you're getting now.

(130,732 posts)I live between a river and a creek, on my own little peninsula, my view all day is the river (a major river, the largest and longest in MD,) and at the moment, an osprey family lives on a nest adjacent to my house. They are about to migrate to south/central America.
Sadly, I have to leave (for a few days, Thurs - Tues,) and will miss home!

My life routine has settled in nicely, and disruptions usually aren't welcome. I like to travel, but I like being home more.

We live in the country in East Tennessee and our view is of rolling hills and mountains. It is so peaceful and beautiful.

(34,131 posts)We've been away from home since July 21. The showers on the Queen Elizabeth were tiny, no romance to even put your elbows out or to bend over - and no hand held, either. Then the UK giant bath tubs with a shower head are a nightmare for short or mobility impaired people, though they are probably great for those who like deep soaking tubs. They are extra deep making it hard enough to get in and out, but the bottom of the tub is six to eight I cheated above the bathroom floor so when you try to step out, it is along way to the floor.
Some places do have shower stalls with hand held, but too often the water pressure is terrible - and figuring out the strange controls is a challenge. By now, we've gone through most of the variations, I hope!
Our home shower is a large fulytiled room with a big bench, wheelchair accessible, with a fixed shower head and hand held on opposite sides. I miss it a lot!

(63,221 posts)The older I get, the less I like having to live according to other people's routines and rules. I love it when I can come back home and do exactly what I want when I want. I find it hard to get comfortable in other people's spaces.

(3,595 posts)Many hotel rooms don't have a couch, and even if they do, it's always stiff and has that scratchy covering that's about as soft as a burlap sack. So, I usually end up uncomfortable and sitting up in bed.
