7. If you have a Mac, just hold down the key for the letter you want

until the little menu appears and then click on the tilde: ñ. You can do that for any letter you want to "decorate," e.g., ø, ü, â, etc.

15. Use "character map"

On older versions of Windows you went Start-Programs-accessories-Character Map. Maybe on newer versions just use "search" to find it, but it should be there. You will find not only punctuation for Spanish, but French, German, Scandinavian and the alphabets of Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, Czech/Croatian, and a few other Indo-Iranian languages plus other useful symbols (¥, ¼ ½, ¾, £, etc.)

Otherwise Alt+126 for the tilde by itself, or Alt+164 for ñ.
