I bought a piece of lumber at a big box store the other day.

One piece, a pre-cut job, sold by the foot.

I go to the cash register to pay for it.

The cashier asks "how long is that, 5 feet?"

I said...uhhhhhh...I think it is 6 feet, as I held it up to me and saw it was slightly taller than me.

She said...oh, I'm so sorry. I don't know what I was thinking by saying 5 feet. You're not THAT short.

Fuck you lady.

I had a friend work at one of those hardware stores, and the hours did not allow her to even go to bed at the same hour every night, let alone have any sort of life. The poor woman was probably just overworked.

I told her to shut up because she was much shorter than me, and that I'm above average height and she is not. We both had a good laugh. All these people in that store know me, and we joke around all the time.

4 feet yes. 6 feet yes. 5 feet is a custom cut.

Oh, and I didn't know they could stack shit that high.
