i actually did some reading on the topic and apparently you have to take a week or two to feed them a clean, safe diet to make sure any crud they ate (like poisonous mushrooms) is out of their system before you cook them.
actually cooking time is anywhere from 10 minutes to two hours depending on how and what you're going for.
yeah, i chuckled at your joke, but then the curious side of me kicked in....
