what vocal fry is? Do you not understand the idea of pretending a musician is dead so you can ask a radio station to highlight his music over an extended period, in hopes of ministering a career revival? Which part is unclear?

And no, I don't know what vocal fry is and I haven't been keeping up all these years to know who Jimmy Thudpucker is.

"vocal fry" until it was used in connection with Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's testimony during the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings.

There was somebody making fun of her speech pattern, here's the story:

to make their voice sound lower than it's capable of. You hear it all the time, especially in the voices of young female celebrities and singers. It's an annoying affectation.

It's sort of droning and dragging out the syllables. Kind of nasal helps. Here's my favorite example, Daisy Haggard playing Myra on the show Episodes-- she's the one in the middle with the long hair.
Start at 1:10 to get the whole effect.
