"Why do you not make girl army men?"

A 6-year-old Arkansas girl started a letter campaign to fix what she saw as a definite wrong.

"My name is Vivian. I am six years old. Why do you not make girl army men?" she wrote to toy companies. "My friend’s mom is in the Army to so why don’t you make them to?”

The only company to answer her letters, her family told Good Morning America, was BMC Toys, which makes the iconic Green Army Men figurines.

Jeff Imel, president and only employee of the North Pennsylvania company, said the letter was "heartfelt" and told NPR that it asked a worthy question.

Thanks for bringing it here. One link goes to an 'Eyewitness News' video, which is heart warming.

The High Church of Redemptive Violence needs to be sure the message penetrates right down to the cradle. It's not enough to have militarism mainstreamed into everyday life. Some kids might not go to sporting events or parades. Get in the toy aisles, on the kids' TV shows, everywhere. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, violence without end. Amen.

... as when our country's very first female fighter pilot was send out to bomb some foreigners.
Though I understand that little girls idea - and love to play violent computer games myself.
