You know, since it's all "cheery" and stuff!

And we'll probably watch the Breaking Bad movie El Camino at that time as well.

There is also an official podcast which I highly recommend -- covers a lot of the actual history behind the show, and explains which parts are real and which are fictionalized.

It’s like impeachment: you can break or ignore the rules, bitch at and bully others and it’s all OK...until it isn’t, and it all blows up in your face.

Chilling, atmospheric... Especially the loudspeaker announcements, "внимание, внимание" ("attention, attention" ) really hit me.

I was really happy to see him win the Emmy for writing this masterpiece. I've been a longtime listener of his fantastic screenwriting podcast called Scriptnotes. When he accepted the award it was like watching an old friend succeed! What makes it more amazing is that he was mostly known as a comedy writer before Chernobyl -- he wrote the two Hangover sequels and Identity Thief (with Melissa McCarthy.)

Another fun fact about him -- he was Ted Cruz's roommate as a Freshman at Princeton, and he really, really hates Ted!

The earlier episodes were a bit rough because of the physical decay illustrated on screen. But, the acting throughout was amazing, especially Jared Harris.

of a student I had, a recent immigrant from Russia. He was astonished at how little Americans knew about Chernobyl. I'm thinking he'll be watching and I'm glad it's a good production.
