Not to dismiss your discomfort (I've heard the humidity is dreadful)-- but be thankful you don't have to worry about wildfires-- they're absolutely terrifying...

I'll be happy when fall is here!

PS Yep-- love Rubber Soul

I've never been to AZ but I understand there are thunderstorms in the summer-- I guess not so much this year.

Yes, glad Garoppolo is recovering!

Fall arrived and nothing changed. Hot as a two dollar pistol here. I’m ready for pumpkin spice season to makes its appearance. Fuzzy sweaters and a nip in the air. This is long past annoying. I may go stick my head in the freezer to remind myself what cooler weather feels like.

My A/C is antiquated and really doesn't do much-- I sleep with my window fan on at night (the other night it was 90 degrees upstairs).

It'll come!!

Seriously, I despise summer, and I especially despise it because of the scourge of wildfires.

Stay warm!

Germany worse than France, though that is to change this weekend. I left Düsseldorf this morning and it was (°F) about 50 or under, light drizzle. I got to Paris about 10:30, and it had warmed up to the upper sixties. Had to run up to Sprout City this evening (Belgium), and it was drizzling and cold again. Here in northern Europe, they say if you don't like the weather, wait a minute.

We rarely have wildfires here, but sometime land storms with hurricane force winds that flatten forests and make cities death traps with trees falling on cars (several fatalities each year) and metal signs being ripped off their hinges that then go flying through cities like stray guillotines. I once ventured out into one of these storms because I needed some medicine, and when I got back to my street 20 minutes later, I couldn't get home because a huge thick tree had been blown over and my street was blocked.

We get weird stuff here, too!

Our family lived in Tübingen for a year when I was ten-- really a lovely little town. I have very fond memories of Germany! I remember how excited we were when it snowed-- I live in the Bay Area and we don't see any of that here. My parents told us how lucky we were to have this experience, but of course we sulked beforehand about having to leave our friends.

My parents were right, of course!

For a ten year old, being suddenly ripped out of your circle of friends is not easy. We've seen it with a few of our daughters' friends. I know I was reluctant to leave for Spain, and that was at age 16. It was only made easier because my rock band was being forcefully disbanded (drummer went off to college, lead guitarist left for San Francisco), and I suddenly had less to hold me down.

I have never been to Tübingen. I seldom go down to the south of Germany except for work. Actually, I seldom go anywhere except for work these days! Next week, I am making a big exception, because one of our guys in our head office in in Dallas is turning 80. He is a good friend, and doesn't know I'm coming for the celebration. It is going to wreck my body clock, since I'm flying 11 hours each way four days apart, but for him, I'm gonna do this.

The surprise element adds a little kick to the proceedings.

The ripping away from friends wasn't sudden-- my father started talking about it many months before we left to acclimate us, so at least I had a little time to adjust to the change.

My first trip on an ocean liner!

Enjoy the party!

If it is 5 degrees cooler in South Texas, it is a big deal.

84 degrees at 11 pm with heat index of 88. Low was 76 and high was 94.

The night temps have not gotten down to 69 yet this month. No temps in the 60s are in the 10 day forecast
