To be honest, I don't respond well to baby birds straight out of the package. All that lurid pink skin unnerves me. But once they fluff up a bit, I find them very cute.

That color really gives the parent bird great targets for feeding the little ones.

I've been lucky enough in my life to live with two African grey parrots, a blue front Amazon and a yellow collared macaw. The macaw was a baby and I got to spoon feed her. Although we thought she was a he at the time. That bird imprinted on me and thought I was Mommy. That was the best feeling in the whole wide world!
