And Tom T. Hall does it as good as, if not better than, anyone.

But, as soon as I clicked on the TTH version, I knew it. Growing up in the '70s I always heard my parents listening to country music. Hee Haw was a staple at our house every Saturday night. So, these days when I tell people I avoid country music like the plague, I always explain that I mean what's been produced since the '80s to today. I'll always have a fondness for the older country, and sometimes listen to Willie's Roadhouse on Sirius.

I literally wore out my copy of Desolation Boulevard back in the day. This brings back great memories of the '70s.
