Then we wait on the tarmac for 20 to wait for the gate to open up.
Happens all the time.

(2,682 posts)Quite some time ago now, I flew to Sydney Australia. The plane landed, taxied up to the gate and we sat there. Someone finally made the announcement that there wasn't anyone there to open the doors. So we waited some more. Finally, a couple of people opened up, and started walking down the aisles spraying insecticide all over us before we were allowed to get off the plane. Now wasn't that special?

(4,056 posts)And allz I can tell you is that you're lucky it was sunny today. When there's rain or fog the delays can be up to 2 hours
So 20 mins for a gatehold? We call that an early arrival.
Today......

(11,155 posts)first successful landing!
Took a earlier flight to Boston once, landed at or near the same time as the flight I was scheduled for. Due to delays at Logan.

(13,770 posts)Flew out of Green Bay and we got to MSP 20 minutes early, only to sit on the tarmac for 15 minutes... It was a three hour layover, too. I had a decent burger at an Irish themed bar and grill along with a black and tan tat cost more than my sandwich...
