6. Bowie - TVC15
Mon Jun 4, 2012, 03:22 AM
Jun 2012

The track was inspired by an episode in which Iggy Pop, during a drug-fuelled period at Bowie’s LA home, hallucinated and believed the television set was swallowing his girlfriend. Bowie developed a story of a holographic television, TVC 15. In the song, the narrator's girlfriend crawls into the television and afterwards, the narrator desires to crawl in himself to find her. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TVC_15

Keep It Clean

I went to the river : couldn't get across
I jumped on your papa : because I thought he was a horse
Rode him over, give him a Coca Cola,
Lemon soda, saucer of ice cream
Take soap and water
For to keep it clean

Up she jumped : down she fell
Her mouth flew open : like a mussel shell

You sister was a teddy : your daddy was a bear
Put the muzzle on your mama : because she had bad hair

If you want to hear : that elephant laugh
Take him down to the river : and wash his yas yas yas

If you want to go to heaven : when you D I E
You got to put on your collar : and your T I E

If you want to get the rabbits : out the L O G
You got to put on the stump : like a D O G

Run here doctor : run here fast
See what's the matter : with his yas yas yas

Full disclosure though, traditional Blues is my weakest area of the genre. My tastes and interest are more in the Chicago and Texas styles. In other words, I like it amped up!

I'm David Makalaster
Your ten o'clock newscaster
My lips are moving faster than
My mind can comprehend

I'm David Makalaster
Your ten o'clock newscaster
Some call me Mr. Mcaly-Mouth
But think of me as friend

If you believe the things I tell you
I've a bridge or two to sell you
And since I've cut my intake down
My liver's on the mend

'Cause I'm David Makalaster
Your ten o'clock newscaster
Good evening and here's what's new

Isn't it awfully nice
To live in a world
Where everything's exactly how it seems

We live in a world
Where all you have to do
Is sit around and dream

About the things that make ya happy
The things that make ya smile
Lay back, relax
Apathy's back in style

I'm David Makalaster
Your ten o'clock newscaster
And I firmly execute
Every word I say

I'm David Makalaster
Your ten o'clock newscaster
Only 6% of America
Thinks that I am gay

If you believe the things I tell you
I've a bridge or two to sell you
And if you see the spider
Don't spill your curds and whey

'Cause I'm David Makalaster
Your ten o'clock newscaster
Good evening and here's what's new

Isn't it awfully nice
To live in a world
Where everything's exactly how it seems

We live in a world
That strokes you in the fire
To build up steam

We live in a world
Where all you have to do
Is sit around and dream

About the things that make ya happy
The things that make ya smile
Lay back, relax
Apathy's back in style
Apathy's back in style

I'm David Makalaster
Your ten o'clock newscaster
Good evening and here's what's new

peace~
