So my son and I did early voting today for our regular local election. Since son is blind I get
to help and our ballots turn our to be identical. Well, we're both Dems. You know that here in New
Mexico we have 2 official languages, English and Spanish and both languages are used on the ballots. I bet that drives the few white supremes here nuts! LOL (Seems most of the white supremes move north to get away from them dark and brown-skinned folk. But that doesn't work! LOL) But I digress...
Our polling place is in The Mercado shopping center and the center has a grocery store called El Mezquite and the store has a full-service (authentic Mexican) food service area. (This will give you an idea of our New Mexico society.) Son and I always head over there to reward ourselves for performing our civic duty and it was pretty good.
When we got home our neighbor was out shaking our a bedspread so I went over and told her we just voted. Now I know Neighbor Lady is a repub even if we've never talked politics since she has an I'm
Christian and I Vote bumper sticker on her car. No never mind to me, I know she's in the minority.
So Neighbor Lady says that she hoped I voted the right way and I told her of course, I'm a Democrat.
Her face was a delight to see and she said she'd take that on faith. So I went back inside and laughed
with Son, another good day here.
