He lived in a chain-link and concrete cage out in the backyard. It was maybe 8 feet by 10 feet. When that cat stretched out in he sun, it was almost as long as the cage. It was not a nice animal and none of us ever dared to go near it. Rumor was that this cat had been in the "Charlie the Lonesome Cougar" movie.
I have never wanted one as a pet.

couldn't keep him but he couldn't be released into the wild (they aren't native to Russia anyhow). So this Russian couple adopted him. It's an unusual situation; normally they shouldn't be pets but this arrangement seems to be working out. His name is Messi.
