(22,075 posts)What a handsome boy! I love happy endings.
This is how most of my current cat family came to me. They just show up. They get neutered/spayed, shots, taken care of and loved. The latest member started watching me from the woods at the barn. When he finally decided to make my acquaintance, he's quite chatty and loving. His tail is shortened, and has been broken. I call him Bob.

(21,153 posts)Around his shop. He started feeding it and one guy on a different shift also liked him and took the cat to get neutered. The guy couldnt have a cat where he lived But also got attached to the cat because he worked a different shift then my husband. One day management said they were going to call the SPCA because the cat was doing its business on the sawdust that was used to soak up the oil. My husband asked me if he could bring him home. He was an outdoor cat who would roam during the day and when we called him would come in for the night when we got home from work. We had him for two years and he was a great cat. unfortunately he took sick and died suddenly. For about a week I swear I felt that cat still in our home.

(38,559 posts)The cat lived in someone's barn. This person would feed it (her) regularly, and one day noticed she was pregnant.
They managed to trap the cat and bring her in to a no-kill shelter where she could have her kittens in a safe place. After the kittens were born, the cat--Gracie--was spayed and awaited a forever home.
No one wanted her because she wouldn't come near anyone.
My sis took Gracie in. She didn't want Gracie to live in a cage for the rest of her life.
It's been over a year, and Gracie still won't approach people at all, but she will, once in a while, come out of hiding (from under the sofa).
Sis is looking for a kitten to keep Gracie company.
The shelters around here won't let you adopt a kitten unless you take two.
