I am currently listening to Welcome to Nightvale which is very cool
sort of an improv of a very local radio station in a very strange small town in the middle of who knows where.
I just listened to a bit about a 5 headed dragon .....

I am also addicted to "My Favorite Murder" and "This Podcast Will Kill You"
We have a great semi local Texas podcast called "Pod Bless Texas" It is screamingly funny especially if you are into Texas politics.

I keep expanding my subscriptions and eagerly await each new episode.
A few of my recommendations:
1. It Could happen here (The 2nd American Civil War) - for politically inclined, this is really scary stuff. One of the only ones I listen to more than once.
2. Imagined Life - the story of a famous person's life told in a 'You are' format. There are cluse through-out the episode but you don't out until the end if you guessed correctly.
3. Disgraceland - the seedy side of Rock & Roll. Murders, arsons, drugs, sex, and the makings of the greatest music ever.
4. Hit Parade, Music History and Trivia - Great info on hit songs and popular artists.
5. FiveThirtyEight Politics - Very well done by Nate Silver's organization and fantastic analysis of recent polling data.
Enjoy, podcasts are great accompaniment for walks, long drives, and bicycle rides.

(15,810 posts)Its a husband and wife team. Shes a doctor and he isnt. They talk about medical history mostly although sometimes they talk about more recent topics (like anti-vaxers). Very entertaining.
I listen to pod save America and pod save the world along with stay tuned with Preet.

(21,889 posts)I don't listen to any political shows. I mostly listen as I'm going to sleep -- started listening to boring meditation podcasts to help me get to sleep and then I found some others.
-Welcome to Night Vale - (my favorite episode is 132 - Bedtime Story)
-Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me - the NPR news quiz - always fun with interesting guests every week.
-Stuff You Should Know
-The Allusionist - adventures in language, historical linguistics , cultural etc.
-Ask a Clean Person - yes, it's about cleaning. they had a few episodes about cleaning if you are depressed and how hard it can be do keep your space clean. (e.g., episodes 160 and 161)
Sawbones sounds interesting.
Thanks for this thread. always looking for new podcasts.

Also found a gardening one I like and have started with "Manchester is Red" which is a football/soccer one.
