Uh, yeah, that new Peloton ad is in very bad taste. Very bad.

Peloton’s viral ad captures a ‘116 lb woman’s YEARLONG fitness journey to becoming a 112 lb woman’

It’s the classic feel-good Christmas tale.

A husband wants his wife to lose a little around the middle, so he gives her some exercise equipment. She’s thrilled but also scared. She captures her journey of apparent self-discovery on social media for a year, so that the happy couple can celebrate the following Christmas by reviewing her progress.

The end.

or something. What dipshits came up with that commercial? It's really the worst I've seen for a long time.

Why spend $3000+ when one can get a really great bicycle, a really good training stand and a nice fan (to replicate the wind in the face) for about a grand less?

Plus you gotta pay a monthly fee to have some steroid head yell at you...makes no sense to me.

One of the greatest Joy's in life is the Katy Trail at Sunrise!

You can get a nice smart trainer, a quality bike you can ride indoors and out, a cheap subscription to Zwift, Sufferfest, or TrainerRoad running on a tablet, and have the added ability to go out into the real world to experience nature in all it’s glory for a lot less than a Peloton.

Or you can stay home and look out the window while pedaling to nowhere.

7 speed STX,Softride headset,Mavic 217 rims, real Continental tires( German made not the Taiwanese knock offs they sell now) straight bars with those '90s looking ramhorns, front and rear racks with matching panniers. It is even a purple with pink splatter paint job,boy do I catch a lot of good natured grief on the color!
Back in the day this was a extremely expensive set up and yet didn't cost anything near three grand!

So vulnerable and struggling with trepidation--yes, of course we are all going to feel so deeply for the poverty-stricken little waif.

You can just watch craigslist. Somebody gives workout equipment away for free at least once or twice a week. Sometimes they don't even bother with craigslist--they just dump it on the street on heavy waste pick-up day.
