Back in the old days a friend and I frequently went to bars, he would start a conversation with a young lady at the bar. If that went well for 5 minutes he would buy her a drink. Half way through the drink he would ask her if she wanted to f%$k. If she said no he said no more drinks and went on to another young lady.

Embarrassed the hell out of me, and yes he got more than I did, damn it.
