Apropos of nothing the Eagles are a really good band.

I was watching a recent concert of theirs on tv. To think I saw them, Jimmy Buffett, Hall and Oates, and Andrew Gold for ten dollars at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando in 1977.

Those were the days.

for the Doobie Brothers. Probably around the same time you saw them, early to mid 70's maybe? I did not care for the Doobie Brothers but my boyfriend did. I got lucky to see the Eagles back then.

Much better band than the Doobie Brothers. That's why they can still sell out arenas. They are going to play the Forum in Inglewood in April. The cheapest tickets are well over one hundred fifty dollars.

BTW, I saw the Stones and Van Halen at the Citrus Bowl in 1981 for $16.50.

Around here scalpers make it impossible. I wanted to see Elton John do his farewell tour. I got on the website line right away and was in to the purchase area within 3 minutes of it opening up and there were no tickets anywhere. I went back and looked around 2 days later and the cheapest ticket was $3000.00. I gave up. I do not remember what it used to cost but as a poor student I was able to swing it. The Eagles were here last year. I have friends who have no money problems ever. We used to go with them but not when they paid $800.00 a ticket to see the Eagles at close range. James Taylor was the same and we used to see him every year. I was informed after I had a mad attack on FaceBook that every concert is like this now at all the venues near me. Scalpers. BAH!

I was too young to even consider going to see them and my parents would not let me go see those "losers" anyway plus $6.50 could be used for better things! The moment I got old enough to earn my own money I started buying records and going to concerts. I do not recall anything close to $6.50 at that point but most kids, high school and older could afford to attend concerts of even the biggest hit makers. I saw many considering the wee wages I made but I managed. Now retired there is no way in hell I can go to anything and we are fine but that is just too much.

We cannot take vacations because of the farm and the lack of hands and help around here so we decided we would go to all the concerts we wanted to go to and also see the Broadway musicals as they come through. Now we can only attend those things at one place that we can afford so it is slim pickings, still OK but this sure put a crimp on our wanderlust resolution!

Kansas City is the closest location for these events. They have a huge scalper problem that they need to fix. $800.00 to $3000.00 to sit in the nosebleed section behind a post? LOL. Maybe it will right itself soon.
