My doggie wasn't a mum ever, but when we lost her kitten buddy unexpectedly, she was also depressed. Two weeks later we got a new kitten, Oscar. Without any prompting they settled in, Oscar suckled on her for weeks...even with no milk, she would be his pacifier and mommy...she'd wake up with hickeys on her nipples from them cuddling together...

Fast forward to now, years later...he is a HUGE tomcat and almost as big as her little terrier self... they chase and play and romp and sleep on my bed together. ...And she still shows him who's boss

Damn, animals are amazing...they can even have inter-species families and care for each other... and here we humans still fight over skin color, religion and bullshit

Animals never cease to amaze me. This mama sure needed to be a mama.

going into heat. We had her teeth fixed and she went into heat. Have to wait a while after to get her spayed. My daughter brought home a kitten too young to leave its mom and I thought it was every two hour feedings for me but lily nursed that kitten for a couple of months until he was bigger than her. She still had milk. She is a Pom. Felix still sleeps with his doggie mom every night with hubs and me,
