I Just Bought My First "Legal" Weed In Illinois

The only dispensary near me that got licensed for recreational is like 12 miles away though. Still a long line today, but not quite as long as the first two days (I only had about an hour & a half wait).

There were a half-dozen food trucks and a DJ playing in the parking lot, so it was a strange kind of a party atmosphere outside. A lot of people were smoking & vaping in line too, so I had a little buzz by the time I got inside (probably why those tacos tasted so good). I'd guess about half the people in line were from St. Louis too.

They were only out of a couple of things, which surprised me a little considering how much business they did those first two days. The local news had a lot of coverage of the re-opening & the huge lines, so I waited till today. They had a lot of staff so once you got inside it was pretty quick & easy.

It's a little expensive, almost twice what I'm used to with all the taxes & what-not, but it's sure going to be convenient. And they're certainly going to be more reliable than the people I've been getting it from.

1. Still waiting for shops to finish licensing and open, in Michigan

They did a surprise announcement that they had moved up the dates from March or April, to the first week in December. Only a few shops had already finished the process.

There are some places in Ann Arbor - about an hour drive, for me. If things don't start happening, soon, I'll be gassing up the car and heading out on a 'road trip'. I'm desperate to get some THC infused oil or tinctures, to help me sleep.

Don't know where you are, but last night I happened to learn the same news you did.

Did some googling and I found two places open for business here in my small town in the web-of-the-thumb area. Saw the news photos of first day line at one place (not long at all). Found that you can also order online, which I will probably try.

Lots of info out there.

9. I'm in Genesee County.

The city of Flint has banned recreational sales (I'm in Flint Township). There's one shop in Burton set to open, and one in Mt. Morris. Ann Arbor has about 5 or 6.

I'll definitely look into the on line ordering. I already order my CBD on line. My plan is to do a little cocktail of the CBD with some THC to help me get more than 4 or 5 hours of sleep, at night. I don't have any interest in smoking but edibles are definitely on my want list.

I suspect that a lot of the areas that have banned the recreational sales will have a change of mind, once they see the tax revenues the sales areas are getting.

The state surprised everyone by expediting the 'start of sales' date, by about 3 months, due to a loophole someone found! So, a lot of stores still aren't fully licensed and approved. Ann Arbor has some recreational sales sites.

Illinois has a much better process. I think they passed the law in June and their stores opened Jan 1. Michigan passed ours in 2018 and we're STILL WAITING for state wide sales. I blame our GOP legislature for this drag in getting things up and running.

The Weedmaps and Potguide sites have some good guides to where recreational sales are taking place.

I haven't smoked in years, but I'm tempted to try some gummies.

But I'm on a low budget, so maybe I'll just get high like you did from being in line, and then I'll go home.

Still, it is nice reading about it. I miss it so bad. Will ya do an extra toke for me and blow it my way? Maybe the thought of it will get here at least.

making a pilgrimage . That’s ok I’m already in possession , common here and I get from tv interviews of those in line that many do not have my kind of access in their hometowns .
I like that i can now legally get a large variety of specific strains i want as opposed to “ what’s in right now” black market
Enjoy !
