Wife and I were both sick as shit. 2nd year in a row I missed Christmas with the family. Last year I scratched my cornea on Christmas Eve. Did get some cool shit though. Got an original Jellyfish poster from the album Bellybutton. Wanted it forever. Going in my office which is all music stuff...including a bad ass black velvet Elvis! Also got a M. A. S. H 4077 flag and the Bandit's license plate from Smokey and the Bandit. Our downstairs bathroom is all TV/Movie stuff.

Djoo get anything cool?

Leather jackets are her traditional gift to me. I've got seven or eight now.

The flag from M*A*S*H 4077 sounds cool!

Can't ever have enough leather! I'm due for a new one myself. My main one I've been wearing for twenty years. It was black. It's now so faded and broke in it's almost white. I have had strangers ask to buy it off my back every winter. Love that coat! But, I'm approaching 50 and it seems to be getting smaller. Strangest thing...

Like yours, I've had mine for around twenty years. The elbows are faded and tattered, and there are few places I can wear it unashamed. It's time for it to go...

we no longer ride our Harley Davidson, and he thought this woman friend of our neighbor would like it. It doesn’t even fit her.......it fit me perfectly, well, we don’t ride the bike anymore, he should have asked me before he gave it away. I keep telling him to tell her I want it back, but I still don’t have it. We do ride our Mazda Miata instead, but damn I wanted to be buried in that Harley jacket.

I like a good Bordeaux. The more earthy ones have to breath for half an hour or so after opening before they're drinkable.

I love Rhine wines; I prefer reds over whites, but if I'm going to have a white, I prefer the Rhines.

And of course, nothing beats Chianti when having Italian food. Or liver and fava beans...

My decision to drink less isn't a New Years' resolution. Just a result of standing sideways and looking in a mirror.

I remember when I had abs. (I also remember how much work it took to achieve and maintain them, so I don't miss them that much...)

yesterday, i got a reply to a fb message that i sent almost 6 years ago, to an old flame.
i forget whose fault that was, but there was a google your ex thread here, and it was late, and i was just heading into a divorce. there were beers involved.
why he chose to reply to that old message now, i have no idea.
as it happens, i broke up w the current bf on new years day.

so, he is a guitar player, and a good one. session man in l.a.
but he also has an allman bros cover band. pretty good, too. dude has solid chops.

we have exchanged a few messages. he isnt a big fb'er. but chatting along. making me smile.

tonight on my car radio, i hear stateborough blues. i recently found a great blues/roots/rock station, and it has been quite fun.
then, i come here to the lounge, and see a ry cooder cover of same.

does this mean anything?

he is geographically undesirable anyway, and he is in la, and i am in chi.
it was both hot and sweet, we enjoyed each other's company and friendship. but he had a girlfriend.
i tried hard, tho. the last time i saw him, i headed home, sad, and stopped at a neighborhood bar, and met the guy i was married to for 30 years.
i thought about him from time to time, w a big smile. it's funny that the game reminded me of him. the ex wasnt even out of the house yet, and here i was stalking him again.

obviously coincidence. i'm not bent that way. and clear confirmation bias.
but it made me giggle.

I was in a pretty toxic relationship a long time ago; twenty-five years ago, come to think of it.

The girl I was seeing wasn't terribly pleasant, and she didn't like me much, either. She announced to a group of her friends that she was going to break up with me.

One of the friends in that group later became my wife, and we've been married for close to twenty-one years.

With a photo of Mother Earth on the cover, yes? Prescient.

I recall talking to my dad about environmental issues in the 70s-80s. He teased me about my concern for The Planet.

but an FYI instead. Abita Brewing Company changed the label on Purple Haze so if you want to get a bottle with Baron Samedi on it then you better do your shopping quickly.

I couldn't find a picture of what the new label looks like, but the label has more of a reddish-purple look with Haze portion spiraling upwards so that the last letters of Purple are squashed.

I'm kicking it following a light cannabis buzz. I just got out some stuffed mushrooms from the oven doused in Worcestershire sauce and extra cheese. I also muddled the raspberries and am ready to pour the beer.

Wish I could say that life was good, but some jerk tried to run me down on my bike today taking a direct swerve at me while revving his engine. He then went down the street, turned around again and took aim. I had to jump onto someone's private property behind a utility pole for refuge. I have no clue why this happened since I don't know hardly anybody in this town and I didn't do anything to provoke the kid.

It was already dark and I was riding home slowly. They stopped briefly to taunt me when I went behind the telephone pole and it was a young man driving with another younger male as passenger and I think there may have been someone in back. Just the typical juvenile crap that has gone on forever.

I'm not very good at identifying automobile models by sight though. I heard him revving up his engines from about two turns and 1.5 blocks away before we even saw each other.

Poor kid carried a lot of anger because of his incredibly small penis.

Sat Jan 4, 2020, 08:28 PM
Jan 2020

It is made with the regular process but has the alcohol taken out after it has been made. So even though it is grape juice, it isn't like the stuff you get in the supermarket. It's the closest I have found to actual wine. The Fre whites are not as good. So you can quit alcohol but not quit wine!
