Wrote some stuff in Publisher last night, all was fine. Today, this is what happens when I try to write:
Any ideas about what's happened to cause this? Can I fix it?
gahhhhhh
UPDATE: First, thanks for the responses. Just started going through the various function headers; under VIEW there was one called "special characters" that was highlighted, clicked on it and the problem resolved. Don't recall ever selecting that, just glad it went away.

Maybe this: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/show-formatting-marks/2b01db63-07a3-494d-90cf-06f89756ed48
If not, you can probably find it in the help menu, probably under "display" and/or "format".
I don't use Publisher, but might I suggest that you try it that way for a while? The strangeness will fade very quickly, and it is useful info.

(70,708 posts)Of all the stuff that's available in Publisher, all I use are the Blank pages, mostly the standard 8 1/2 and the 4x6 - almost exclusively for Pasting, Editing and Saving pictures. I never dig into the various functions (your View), but in the few other basic programs (Word, Outlook, gmail) I have often wanted that feature that you were troubled about, to tell me the lines and spaces.
In your o.p., I didn't know what was "wrong" since I like that feature!1 Thanks for educating me on where to find it!1
