I don't think I have favorite but I definitely have a most hated - whatever that San Francisco stuff is I currently have. I'll never buy another box of it. Muddy McMudface.

(21,107 posts)But I actually buy Mayorga, Cafe Cubana from Costco because it is accessible, inexpensive and VERY good.
And yes, you can buy Kicking Horse in the US.

I never dreamed that I would like Folgers but this one I do. I did not know 1850 was Folgers until I had already had some.

(29,098 posts)Yes It's pricey but I treat myself a few times a year Thanks to Amazon. They use to serve it in a shop in Philadelphia but they closed long ago, so I can no longer order it from them. For daily drinking we grind the San Francisco Organic from Costco. It's good.

(82,849 posts)Sadly available in on a few places in Oregon, but well worth a trip off the beaten path to get a cup or a pound of beans.

(34,111 posts)yes, the name is how I discovered it. I like 3 Peckered Billy Goat brand. https://store.ravensbrewcoffee.com/collections/brand-coffee-tpbg when I can find it.
I do not get to drink the kind of coffee I really like because our espresso machine balks at very dark and oily NW roasts.
Kicking Horse is a good choice. We can get it here in the middle so I would guess it is available everywhere in the USA.

(36,444 posts)The coffee of choice for the finer San Francisco Bay Area restaurants for decades and decades. They keep it simple with a blend of three beans: dark roast, and for some reason I've never understood, a namby-pamby light roast.
I also hear they also perfected a decaffeinated blend, but I don't swing that way.

(17,622 posts)..it has to be dark and strong cuz I put sugar free salted caramel in it and top it off with heavy whipping cream..
But my small town has THREE local coffee roasters. None of that Dunkin Donuts stuff for me
I did spurge on Jamaica Blue and it was meh...

(14,890 posts)The coffee shop buys beans from fair trade places (Mexico, New Guinea, etc). and roasts the beans. Supper yummy.

(14,492 posts)OXO grinder & brewed in an old Cuisinart brewer. Yummy. Fast, trouble-free and very reliable. Took me around 40-years to find this perfect combination.
Beans are relatively inexpensive, fairly consistent and usually nice and oily. Excellent fresh, earthy old-fashioned taste. Just sniffing the open bag is worth the price.
