it will be a senior dog. We're seniors ourselves and a puppy is out of the question.

Our current baby is 8 or 9 years old, rescued from a kill shelter by a local dog rescue. After our last dog died we decided to volunteer for the rescue. So we were fostering him for 3 days and couldn't let him go. He's laying on our bed right now sound asleep.

Our pup cannot handle other dogs. We've tried. So he's an only child for life.

I love dogs. Because I have no kids probably.

Was displaced by another dog (possibly a puppy) in his original home. Kind of like John Derek's acquisition of a new, later model blonde wife every few years. (IIRC, Derek was quite the Conservative.)

He is the most jealous dog I've ever had. He will fight any other dog no matter the size.

He is worse in dog parks. We took him and the other dogs ran up to greet him, and he went for their throats.

That is a kill move.

He's also alpha -- only alpha dog I have ever had too. He thinks we are dogs or he is human, can't decide. And he runs us. High maintenance to say the least -- but CUTE as the devil. He has such a sweet face. And he's much more snuggly than our last hound.

He's a piece of work our Petey but we love him. If we hadn't taken him they would have had a terrible time placing him I think. He was in at least 3 homes and got sent back each time. When he arrived at our house he sat on the sofa next to me and laid his head in my lap. And I was hooked.

He's my furry son. So I guess I feel similarly to parents whose teenagers act up.
