Saw "Just Mercy" today

Had a high-level familiarity with the McMillian case going in.

Maybe I don't get to the movies enough, but haven't been this emotionally wrung out by a film since "Precious."

Outstanding performances by Jordan and Foxx, along with Rob Morgan's moving portrayal of Herbert Richardson.

I highly recommend it, but be prepared to feel everything from despair to raw anger.

And his role in it was a real heart breaker.

Which made me wonder how many are innocent but aren’t proven innocent.

On the other hand, there’s an absurd number off murders that never get solved at all.

Plus, the fact that the EJI alone has saved 100+ (I think the credits said 140) people from the death penalty indicates just how messed up the system is.
