Guy Finds Lost Husky On Train Tracks

1. As a breed, Huskies are really bad about running

and getting themselves lost. The vet said it’s because they like to run so much by the time the stop they are so far from home they don’t know where they are. They aren’t scent dogs so they can’t sniff their way back home.

2. Our old dog was 1/2 Siberian and a total escape artist.

The 100 lb. guy fit his paws into the tiniest crack in the fence and would push it up and dig until he got out. Luckily he didn't run far, he was just lonely with my husband and I working really long hours. So he would escape and run around the neighborhood for about a 2 mile radius, looking for friends. He had so many friends around the neighborhood, they'd pet him, give him water and many of them would eventually walk him home and put him back in the fenced yard.

4. I remember a horrific kennel fire in the Atlanta area years ago... About two dozen dogs escaped

--ONLY because a Husky/Malamute opened his own kennel and all of theirs. Smart dogs, but yeah, they are escape artists.

3. Are you serious, they can't sniff their way back?

Never heard that about a dog....

Now I’ve had some stupid dogs, but normally they could find their way home, especially close to chow time.
