Fans react to Disneyland ticket price increase: 'I will not be going there'

Disneyland on Tuesday announced it would, once again, raise ticket prices for its parks and attractions, pushing past the $200 mark for some one- and two-day passes for the first time.

Fans on social media had mixed reactions:

“Seriously @Disney? Are you out of your minds?” one fan wrote on Twitter. “I will never go to Disney park again. $209 to stand in lines & be with a million people in a small park? No thanks - guess they don’t make enough on the rest of the overpriced stuff.”

“I just read on facebook that the ticket price for Disney Land jumped up to $200 per person for one day,” another user complained. “So I know I will not be going there.”

I think it's been like 38 years since I've been to Disneyland. Not inexpensive family entertainment.

People are free to accept or reject the price structure. I won't be paying it as I have no intention of going to a Disney Park.

According to Baudrillard, it's the only REAL place in America. Ahhh!

That makes sense when you can't afford the reality.

the stadium, and the grocery...ahhhh....hot dogs/baseball, apple pie, and Chevrolet (or any of the others)...Now all unaffordable reality as well! Gotta love ever-present GOP-gates, policies, and local Rust Belt leadership bringing regular American families to their knees.

We were such a stressed out mess at the time, our family took a stress-relief trip without telling a soul, so I can't remember how much it cost for the family of four to get a single-day pass in January, 1987... Nobody except LE has the right to tell me not to "leave town."

The weather in Florida was chilly, the beach unwalkable due to wind and rain, but enjoyed the tour of NASA far more than DisneyWorld. Whoopee, I was there; maybe the kids will remember it, but I'm never ever planning to go back to FantasyLand and I've wished on many a star...

Not that I'd know what Disney World is like. I grew up near where they put it - and remember the sign on I-4 in the middle of a cow pasture announcing "The Future Site of Walt Disney World!" I've never been even though my brother in law worked there and offered free passes. My husband went but he has a much higher tolerance for crowds and noise than I do.

My favorite places near Orlando and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Kennedy Space Center, and the Ocala National Forest. I will never ever ever go to Disney World. Even free it was not worth it to me.

We go less often than we used to... but seriously doubt the price increase will change their ability to get guests in the gates.

There is a trick to going to Disneyland where it is enjoyable. We go every year. But then again, I only have 1 child. It is just her and I. I see families of 5 or 6, and often wonder how they can afford it. I told my daughter this will be The last year for awhile. It is getting too expensive. Our 3 day park tickets cost $300/pp. It is costing as much as a trip overseas. Luckily, I have already gotten our tickets before the prices increase for this year.
