(14,118 posts)impacted by both Lake Superior and Lake Michigan. The pic could also be of Green Bay where I lived
for many years and is totally impacted by Lake Michigan. mentioning this for a friend...
disclaimer: I no longer live in either area I previously mentioned. I do live in sunny, warm New Mexico (which has still looked like the storm video at times). As far as I can tell, The Great Lakes don't impact us in New Mexico at all. Remember that Mother Nature always has the last laugh.
No axe to grind, just free-associating. Thanks for the memories.

(34,403 posts)like South Bend, Indiana and the far southwest portion of lower Michigan and places like Escanaba affected by both Michigan & Superior. I lived in southwest lower Michigan and the fetch of the lake isn't long enough to pick up that much moisture to dump several feet of snow as Lake Erie can. Now I live far enough inland that we rarely get a lot of lake effect except when the winds are blowing strongly from the west. When I was a kid, we used to get a lot of lake effect north of Traverse City, but rarely were we dumped on by several feet like areas near Lake Erie get.

(14,118 posts)New Mexico I might have to sweep the snow off my car several times during any given winter but I never touch a shovel or a scoop! That's a win for me.
