My Sweet Bess had eleven of the little darlings in her first and only litter - some red, most black. They did this dance from the time they were smaller than these little guys.

Sometimes I guess I overfed them just to watch the dance. Of course, one inevitably wound up standing in the middle of the pan of food. What a riot.

I got the impression with mine and Bessie's babies that one pup would start a push against the pup to his right, trying for some reason to get to the other pup's food. The pup being pushed would try to move away, while still eating. And soon the whole litter was in motion.

Watch the red in the blue collar when he first comes out from the bottom left corner. He is the agressive rascal who started the whole thing.

Why counter-clockwise? I can't begin to imagine. But I can't remember mine ever going clockwise.

I put it down, initially, to the fact that puppies are energetic, but hungry at the same time. Gotta move AND gotta eat. This way they can do both.

Either way. Great video!
