One of my colleagues had on business attire during our video conference call. They were lucky that I wasn't buck naked.

(11,929 posts)My 'dressing down' has been a t-shirt, polo, or sweatshirt. I still do my makeup, hair, and wear earrings, but I do that on weekends anyhow. Our admin mandated that we all - the entire workforce - be on Zoom chat all day ready for a meeting at any time while we try to get everyone teaching and learning from home. That's in addition to using whatever method of communication our individual teams prefer. I'm in multiple groups so I'm using MSTeams, Slack, gmail, TDNext, Bugzilla, and Footprints. When my notifications sound, it takes me 30-40 seconds to find which one did it.

(15,812 posts)I learned that last summer when Dh started working from home after we got a puppy. He took a conference call in the backyard using his laptop not realizing it was a video Skype call. Oops.

(10,435 posts)I don't do video calls or conferences. Usually I just work in my underpants, shorts or bathrobe. I get dressed when I actually have to leave. Not just to talk on the phone

Cat in my lap, dogs at my feet.

(63,221 posts)No pants, no bra. I have taped over my PC camera. I refuse to do a video conference. I don't know why, but it creeps me out. I don't like people looking at me through a camera.
One of the best things about wfh is the casual dress code!

(12,682 posts)The bathrobe is for the one little cat who desperately thinks I'm her mommy and wants her comfort zone most of the time ... Which happens to be tucked in the bathrobe between my armpit and boobs.
The waist tie keeps her comfortably in place, no matter what I have to do or if I have to get up for a short time.
Otherwise, she would be all over my laptop keyboard or digging her claws into my shoulder trying to keep herself in a "hug" position on me.
Skype conferences are always interesting, everyone else sees me in what looks like a light-blue cotton jacket with a solid black cat-butt hanging out the front.
She's been like that since we took off for a week last year to take care of my mom after knee surgery. The other cats are fine, but poor Goblin just couldn't handle us being away that long.

(11,155 posts)an email I got on how to handle working from home at this time suggested establishing a routine and treating it like going into the office or with who they aimed the email at teachers and support staff.
Since I don't know how many video chats, I may get involved in dressing similar to what I wear daily is better than sweatpants and a t-shirt.
