I've been having the worst two weeks of my life.

On Monday, March 23, I developed a horrendous headache that kept me bed-ridden for three days. I felt tired all the time, yet ironically could never sleep because of the pain.

The headache basically subsided by Thursday, but things did not improve for me as the headache was replaced by this awful hoarse cough that I regret to say still exists as of this post.

Since then, I’ve had bad days and slightly less bad days but the last four have been the worst of them all. I’ve had illnesses that have lasted for long periods, especially in recent years, but I don’t recall having one that was still this aggressive nearly two weeks into its life span. What the hell?

Is it the coronavirus? Possibly. I certainly can’t say. I’m leaning more towards “no” because my coughs are constantly producing phlegm (which has actually been a sign of relief for me), thus it’s not the “dry cough” that’s a common symptom of the disease. But I’m obviously no doctor, so that’s simply my unprofessional opinion. I doubt I’ll ever find out either way.

I’ve had virtually no appetite since I’ve been sick and have lost almost ten pounds. And I’ve always been a bit underweight to begin with, so that’s certainly not good. My stomach will eventually start hurting due to hunger pains, so I have to force myself to eat despite not craving food at all.

I haven’t had a decent night’s sleep in almost two weeks and I’m over it. I spend most of my time in bed, trying in vain to get even an hour of rest. Regardless of what this motherfucker is, it’s the worst disease I’ve ever had in my goddamn life and I can’t wait until it finally goes away.

Just wanted to share my pain, because this sucks big time.

It would be great if you got a test (since then, when you recover, you will know that you likely have some immunity)

wish that had been the case. Sure sounds like covid-19. Have you had a fever? Have you even called your doc? How old are you? If you want a proper diagnosis, I need more info. Joke. Bad joke.

Take care of yourself. Hope it spends itself out and you are on the road to recovery.

I don’t think they’d bother testing me unless I displayed the most serious symptoms, which I have fortunately not. The virus has remained pretty consistent in its awfulness, which is probably a good thing.

And thanks. I appreciate that.

With pneumonia, you may cough up phlegm that is yellow, green, or sometimes bloody. Your symptoms will vary based on the type of pneumonia you have. Cough, fever, chills, and shortness of breath are common symptoms with all types of pneumonia.

I usually try to breath out of my nose because that seems to make me cough less.

They might have a test for you. Make the call, at least they'll have you in the system, maybe get you some better meds.

Call your doctor. I probably had the coronavirus at the beginning of March. Could not get a test, but a lot of your symptoms are exactly what I had. The one thing that helped me the most was sleeping in a recliner instead of my bed.

Because my body ached so much, I just spent most of my time in the recliner in front of the TV. And by bedtime, I was still too tired to get up and crawl in bed. The one night I did, my cough got a lot worse. Back to the recliner and my cough was better.

Had to force myself to eat. Toast, crackers and chicken broth were the best things.

I had a temperature for 10 days, something I have never had in my life. Please call your doctor. You sound like you may very well have Coronavirus.

With the exception of the cough, these can also be the symptoms of Lyme disease, and it is getting to be prime time for Lyme. Lyme is tied for the worst disease I ever had (Russian flu in college is its co-winner) and is treatable with an antibiotic, unlike COVID. The sooner the better with treatment. I fear that a lot of Lymers will get ignored this year because everyone is so focused on the virus.

I went to the doctor today. I had my temperature taken and it was fine. Nothing wrong there at all.

I was unable to get tested for COVID-19 because I haven’t been displaying any of the most serious symptoms (trouble breathing, body aches, etc). The doctor gave me some Mucinex to help with my lingering cough. I plan to take some tonight so I can hopefully sleep.

Nothing else to report other than that. I’ve had a bit more energy today, I think, than I’ve had the last few days. I’ve been drinking water constantly, which I know because I frequently have to pee.

Thanks for all the advice and concern, everybody. It’s very much appreciated.
