It's Bengali new year. Shubho noboborsho.
Well, "shubho" means "happy", and that seems a little optimistic. So just "noboborsho".
Normally the streets of Kolkata would be colorful and flooded with people right now, but they're empty; the pictures I'm seeing from my friends there are almost unimaginable (India doesn't really do empty streets, until now).
May 1426 be better than 1425! (No, nobody is quite sure what happened 1426 years ago that made the Bengali calendar pick that as their zero year; it's one of those lost-to-history things.)
