In at 7:40 am and out by 8:30. Yesterday at 5 pm a statewide order on stores limiting number of people inside according to square footage went into effect in NC. The grocery store had the markings outside for people to line up and keep 6 ft distance. I was early enough to walk right in.
They had TP and I bought a 12 pack. Should be good until June now. They had boneless skinless chicken breasts which I cook for my elderly dog and her sensitive gut. Still no liquid soap. Everything else I wanted from microwave popcorn to lunch meat to produce to bread, eggs, and milk, was stocked. Bought lots of flavored waters. I've decided to go alcohol free for the next month and see if I can get my weight loss program going again. No wine and no booze in the apartment. Given stay at home, I won't make a trip to get any.
Next grocery store trip probably 10-14 days away, or longer if I only run into the Dollar General on the corner for milk when I run out.

(3,544 posts)On Dollar General milk. My daughter picked a gallon and it was out of date. That's why it's cheaper.

(31,392 posts)faster than it has in the past. I've only been in it once in the last month and the milk I bought then had a week on it before it would expire. There were also quite a few empty shelves in the store, which I hadn't seen much in the past.

(25,183 posts)and the TP and milk sections were devastated. But, I went in mid-afternoon, I guess the AM shoppers really clean up on those items.
But I was able to get a case of good New York-made India pale ale.

(31,392 posts)but there were not many packs of TP remaining on the shelves. I suspect the TP would be gone before 10 am.
I'm not a beer drinker. But the wine section of my store is very well stocked.

(8,051 posts)(I go to two places-every two weeks). I got almost everything I needed . By the time I got my stuff, wiped everything down, and put everything up it was three hours later! I'm glad you were able to get what you needed. I love and found my flavored water too....

(31,392 posts)during normal times. Now it's an experience of anxiety. I go as fast as I can. No lingering over new products, shopping for a new recipe, trying something different. Hope what I want is there. Hope I haven't forgotten something, because I'm not going back. Hope someone doesn't cough in the aisle where I need to get something.
It's a very tense chore. I had to sit down after I put everything away and make myself relax.
