that's what incident command had to say about the fire today. they're expecting it to smolder for months. i guess that shouldn't be an unexpected statement, but very sad and a tad worrisome all the same. up to 52k acres now, about 15 ercent containment. but it jumped the river in spots last night and my best friend's parents had to bug out of their house, but at least i know they're safe.

i got my first full on view of the smoke and haze today

the sky to the west is darkening for reasons other than smoke, but we're not going to talk about it. i may go wash my car instead.
