I think DU3 has a lot to do with it as well. It seems like some days, fully a quarter of the new threads are in Meta complaining about jury decisions and the like.

If DU wasn't, by far, the best news aggregator on the planet (for my taste in news), I don't know that I would come here again. Because you're right, it's just not as much fun.

And one of the f*ed up things is that I now fully expect someone to come along and prove the point by saying "if you don't like it, then just go away."
