Few things are as intensely delicious as the first wild strawberry of the season

I'm taking a day off of yard and garden work to let my toxic weed rashes and blisters, now on BOTH arms, start to heal. That gives me time to wander the 'estate', camera in hand. Imagine my glee at finding this little gem ready for picking.

I'm still hoping to get a picture of this year's first butterfly but with nasty weather heading our way, I might be photographing storm clouds and lightning strikes, instead. Anyway, here's my strawberry. It was lovely.

Today, I caught a squirrel munching on some very big and almost nearly ripe Hood strawberries.

Alpines weren’t good enough for him apparently.
