Mead (metheglin)

don't make fun of my makeshift airlocks got the yeast in the mail and didn't want to wait for the rest of the equipment... I used to make beer and wine but haven't for years and I had some honey I wasn't going to sell...

they say 6 months to age after bottling... it will be difficult to wait if you're around in 6 months, I will share

lemon balm on the left, schisandra in the middle and elderberry on the right...

😊

Neat! There is a mead winery in Woodinville, WA. I love their cherry vanilla. Nummies!!!

I was drinking way too much.. The neat thing about my beer was I never got a hang over..
I was fuzzy in the head when I woke up but no headache or sour stomach like the commercial stuff..
Never tried wine or mead.. I hear mead and think of Robin Hood... ;^)

I’ve never made it, but my friend makes great mead now an again. It’s pretty good after 6 months, and sublime after more then a year.

I have a hive and he will ask about any excess honey. Mead takes tons relative to what I use to bolster my porter and stout ABV.

Vermont for the party...

I had some honey that I accidently got a bit of water in so I figured Mead was in order...

I have a stand out front by the road and sell my honey and stuff made from beeswax and honey (CBD Salve, Muscle Rub, Infused Honey, etc...)

but I use it to frost my cinnamon rolls... I put the rolls out and take donations (self-serve stand)... I think I make more money with the donations than if I put a price on them

(I can sell maple syrup through the website but would have to charge $65/gal with shipping )

but I like this one.... the description: "This medieval Viking mug hold 20oz. of your favorite mead, ale, beer or lager; and when you’re done drinking, slam it down like a real Viking".... I want to be able to "slam it down like a real Viking"
