don't make fun of my makeshift airlocks got the yeast in the mail and didn't want to wait for the rest of the equipment... I used to make beer and wine but haven't for years and I had some honey I wasn't going to sell...
they say 6 months to age after bottling... it will be difficult to wait if you're around in 6 months, I will share
lemon balm on the left, schisandra in the middle and elderberry on the right...

(9,900 posts)Ive never made it, but my friend makes great mead now an again. Its pretty good after 6 months, and sublime after more then a year.
I have a hive and he will ask about any excess honey. Mead takes tons relative to what I use to bolster my porter and stout ABV.

(22,756 posts)Vermont for the party...
I had some honey that I accidently got a bit of water in so I figured Mead was in order...
I have a stand out front by the road and sell my honey and stuff made from beeswax and honey (CBD Salve, Muscle Rub, Infused Honey, etc...)

(22,756 posts)but I use it to frost my cinnamon rolls... I put the rolls out and take donations (self-serve stand)... I think I make more money with the donations than if I put a price on them
(I can sell maple syrup through the website but would have to charge $65/gal with shipping )
