Questions for small businesses

The small business group doesn't get much use, so I'm asking my question here.

If you're a small retailer of some kind and you ship stuff to customers, how do you treat the shipping cost? Do you charge shipping the the customer at cost? Do you mark up shipping or add a straight handling charge to the normal shipping cost (whether USPS or any of the courier services)? Do you mark up your product price and offer "free" shipping?

Do you use your own website, Amazon, eBay, or other?
