AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) An Aurora woman says dozens of snakes invaded her apartment following building renovations.
Charlotte Moore tells the FOX31 Problem Solvers snakes have been getting into her home at the Fitzsimmons Junction Apartments since June 2 when balconies were moved at the complex.
We noticed the smell was really bad and thats when we started seeing the snakes, Moore said.
She says at least 25 snakes have appeared along baseboards and under furniture, causing her to stay up for most of the night.

(46,051 posts)Maybe they're coming in to look for rodents. It's always possible to see rats and mice with renovation. Snakes would sure love those.

if rattle snakes , yes , if not , then no worries . they will figure out no food or girls and go away, unless u dont like snakes . in my apartment complex we had a renovation 5 years ago, but nothing like this . thank goodness.

(1,233 posts)Looks like they were just wandering in to check things out. Probably a nest in the walls, or near the foundation, that was disturbed by the construction.
When we moved into our house in the country, I stepped into the kitchen to find my cat batting a rat snake around. It wasn't very big, and I thought she brought it in from outside. A few days later, the dog went ballistic and I stepped into the kitchen to find three more coming out of the floor vent. Turned out some of the duct work under the house had fallen, and snakes had made a home there.
I have a great deal of appreciation for snakes, have had some as pets, and generally do not fear them, but having them at large in the house is a little too much, even for me.
