I had to take a break from DU...

I'm back though, but only on a limited basis.

I was going through some bad stress, my Mom is getting really bad with Alzheimers, and I had to just go off this board to lessen the stress.

I kept on Facebook with California Peggy, she is the sweetest woman I can think of here.

If there's anything I can do to help you feel better, just let me know.

And thank you for your very kind words.

It's just so hard, to have my Mom become a totally different person.

As is, today I went to several garage sales, bought a DVD "30 Years of National Geographic Specials," and a silly purchase for 50 cents, a toy lightsaber.

I know this may sound a bit crass at first, but hear me out.
I'm hoping my Mom dies soon, so she is out of her pain (she has bad arthritis too,) and before the Alzheimers gets worse.

My Grandmother had bad dementia, before she died.
She didn't know any of us and was really paranoid, before she died.

I do not want to see Mom get like this too.

When her soul is leaving her body, she is no longer there. Death is a huge release.

I am entirely with you on this.

Being a caregiver to a dementia/Alzheimer victim is such a heavy load.

Wishing you strength and inner peace.

Big virtual hug.

At times like these you have to prioritize and you do what you have to do in order to manage the stress and sadness. Best wishes.
