1985 Super Mario Brothers game sells for $114,000

DALLAS, Texas - A copy of a 1985 super Mario Bros. video game sold for $114,000 at an auction held by Heritage Auctions on Friday.

The cartridge takes the title of the highest price ever paid on record for a video game.

It is unknown at the moment who purchased the vintage video game.

The auctions copy of the game has never been taken out of the box and has never been played.
