in april our garage freezer stopped working. we moved everything into the house refrig/frzr combo and thought we'd wait a week and buy another chest freezer. Not a good idea.
since then we have not been able to find anything in the way of a 7 c.ft model.
not the box stores, appliance outlets, no where.
any ideas/

(12,265 posts)find a smaller one that we packed solid but it handled what we had. We get our beef and pork from my cousin so we had quite a lot of it. No freezers to be had that is true.

Well, here I go. Looking for someone to repair a 5 year old chest freezer. Part needed is a start capacitor, they aren't available in my area presently either.

I have ordered appliances from AJ Madison for two different houses in the last 12 years, one that we remodeled and one that we custom built. Never had a problem with any of them.
Good luck!

(16,173 posts)the same model or close to it is now selling for double the price pre convo. We paid $169 out the door at Lowes 5 years ago. The ones
I'm looking at are now $450.00 same size.
I think I'll wait another 4 weeks and see what happens.
Thanks again.

(366 posts)Unless you are willing to over pay at an auction, I would suggest ordering and just get in line for delivery.
We are redoing the pantry and switching from a chest to upright. Because of the shortage, we anticipate a pretty good price for ours.

(17,444 posts)It's not a chest freezer, but it sounds close.
All kidding aside, I'll see if I can locate one online, and will post if I find anything out. Good luck to you.
